Notorious B.I.G. once rhymed, "There’s rules to this stuff. I wrote me a manual." Though it applied to a different type of game, Christopher Wallace was on to something. Now that the 2012 NFL Draft is over, many players will need a guide to keep them out of the gossip blogs, tabloids, and bankruptcy courts. We’ve seen so many athletes come into the NFL broke and leave in the same way. It’s a cycle we must stop. So, before these athletes get caught up, perhaps they should read The Five Draft Commandments. (What!) ---Christian Law

Reality television is a complicated business. Some shows get immensely popular and springboard everyday people into celebrity stardom, but that fast track to Hollywood isn’t for everyone. However, there are those lucky ones who manage to build their brands, or expand their existing empires, based on their participation in America’s guilty pleasures. While some reality stars make little to no money at all—the average is about $5,000 a month—personalities who appear on popular shows like The Real Housewives franchise can make $8,000 and up per episode, and millions of dollars beyond their TV presence alone. It’s reported that the Real Housewives of New York racked in $75,000 per episode last season, while the Kim Kardashian and her family recently signed a deal worth an estimated $40 million for three more seasons of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. With millions of dollars floating around in the “real worlds,” BlackEnterprise.com Decodes the financial gain of some of reality TV’s most notable personas. —Starrene Rhett Rocque

THE PRESENT IS ALL THAT MATTERS

Your Klout score is based on a rolling 90-day window. However, the most recent activity has more bearing on scoring than old activity. So, no matter how low your score is, what you do over the next week is all that matters in getting a higher score. Short-term lapses in social media presence also tend to have less of an effect, but beware of month-long drops. Your score will gradually decrease.

Tip: Keep in mind that the higher your Klout score, the more difficult it becomes to increase your score exponentially. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t blow past 80 in the next week, just keep working at it.

Last week, news broke about two African American men, Christopher Johnson and Nathaniel Claybrooks, filing a class action lawsuit against the producers of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. The men claim that they were rejected from being cast on the popular reality show because they are Black. In 20+ seasons of the long running show, there has never been an African American contestant.

While the rest of the world argues the validity and diversity of reality television’s latest bachelors, BlackEnterprise.com rounded up a list of the hottest 10 single brothers that should be on your radar. Not only are these men easy on the eyes but they’re all certified movers and shakers, too. Ladies, you’re welcome. —Bridgette Bartlett of Black Bridal Bliss

As we continue the transition into spring that means prom season is already upon us as students begin to pester their parents for money for the first must-attend social event of adolescence. When you calculate the limo rides, corsages, entry fees, dress purchases and tux rentals, this one-night affair can quickly add up to a hefty bill. In fact, according to a recent survey of 1,000 random people conducted by GfK Roper OmniTel, parents can expect to pay an average of $1,078 per teen for prom this year. That’s a 34 percent increase from last year’s national average of $807. Now we’ll Decode prom costs by region and financial brackets. —Anslem Samuel

I’ve been involved in the Republican Party for most of my adult life and continue to be amazed at the lack of interest the party shows toward the Black community. Those who have followed my writings over the years know that I have been extremely critical of the party regarding this issue. But, I have been even more critical of the individuals the party chooses to showcase as the face of Black Republicans. I find many of these individuals to be an embarrassment to me as a person of color, as well as to the Republican brand. Many of the Black faces that are trotted out in front of the cameras have absolutely no connection to the Black community.

Despite public perception there are Black Republicans who possess both political and policy expertise that the party could and should tap in to. They exemplify the best of Republican values and thoroughly understand the need for the party to be more diverse. Here are some influential Black Republicans that most folks have never heard of but should. —Raynard Jackson

Americans put a lot of value on job status. There are jobs that are revered for heroism—firefighters, soldiers—and others are heralded as the cornerstone of our society, such as educators. But the jobs that most admire with awe and envy are the “sexy jobs.” Positions that, from the outside looking in, appear to pay a pretty penny to live the life. They’re so appealing in fact that if you pay attention to any TV show or film there’s a good chance that one or all of the main characters have one of these “sexy jobs.” However, the luxurious lives associated with these gigs on screen don’t translate to real life, where oftentimes passion outweighs the paycheck. BlackEnterprise.com took a look at the actual earnings for these “sexy jobs” to see if the pay equaled the prestige. —Chloe Hilliard

Much of the employee scale-backs will come from Sony’s television business, according to reports, and roughly half of the job cuts will stem from recent deals, including the company’s sale of a chemicals company and the new joint operation with Hitachi and Toshiba.
