BE 100s CEO Andre Gist operates two of the nation’s largest black-owned companies: Manufacturers Industrial Group and its joint-venture, MIG-Viseton Automotive Systems (No. 39 on the BE Industrial/Service Companies list).

With 2008 revenues at $132.8 million, MIG is Tennessee’s leading minority-owned metal manufacturer. MIG specializes in robotic, resistance, projection, automatic, and hand welding. MIG’s assembly processes include riveting, staking, swaging, and light presswork.

MIG operates three facilities totaling more than 400,000-square-feet of manufacturing and warehousing space.

Manufacturers Industrial Group also has a joint venture with Visteon Corporation. MIG-Visteon Automotive Systems  has its office in LaVergne, Tennessee and its operation inside the Nissan Manufacturing facility in Smyrna, Tennessee.
