For years, the ranks of venture capital firms were filled by word-of- mouth recommendations and recruits from top business schools. With unprecedented opportunity projected for the future, the industry must now develop a new generation of leaders. Through the Kauffman Fellows Program, exceptional young professionals can learn about start-up venture investing. The program partners fellows with seasoned mentors at venture capital firms for a two-year apprenticeship.
Fellows must be U.S. citizens, preferably with a graduate degree in business, science or technology. The annual stipend is $80,000, and up to $7,500 is reimbursed for travel and relocation expenses. Applications will be available in November and can be obtained by calling 816-932- 1221 or by e-mail at www.emkf.org.
