Founded in 1986 by Maceo Sloan, NCM Capital is the largest African American asset management firm in North Carolina. Today the firm has more than $2 billion in assets under management—down 29% from the previous year.

The company’s investment philosophy is based on a strong emphasis on high-quality securities, fundamental research supported by quantitative screens, well-defined buy and sell targets, and prudent diversification across equity and fixed income investments.

Toyota Motor Sales, MARTA Union Employees’ Retirement System, and the California State Teachers’ Retirement System are among some of the money manager’s notable clients.
