5 Famous People You May Never See at Occupy Wall Street
Jay-Z’s ascent from Brooklyn’s Marcy Housing projects to one of the highest paid entertainers and businessmen in the world is well documented. His real-life Horatio Algier story is an inspiration to our generation, so why is it unlikely that he’d show up at Occupy? Well as of this writing he’s kinda on tour with Kanye in support of their “Watch The Throne” collaborative album. And, oh yeah, then there’s the whole “Occupy All Streets” Rocawear t-shirt flap.
Though it was initially reported that the tee that co-opts the slogan of the movement would be sold for profit representatives of Rocawear and Russell Simmons’ Global Grind claim that isn’t the case and no official decision about whether or how the proceeds from the sale of the shirt will be distributed has been made yet. We don’t think the Occupiers are buying that. Until everything does become clear it’s a safe bet that it’d be a bad look for Hov to appear down there.
