Did Kanye West Really Create a Twitter Account for his Fashion Line?

You can’t tell him nothing. It looks like Kanye West hasn’t been deterred by the critical beatdown fashion writers gave his “DW” womenswear line last fall.

Just days before the New Year a mysterious Twitter account for his ‘Dw’ clothing appeared with the handle @dwbykanye. The authenticity of the account is unconfirmed as of yet and there are only four cryptic tweets from it. However, similar to West’s authenticated personal account, it only follows four other Twitterers including West himself, the founder of French clothing line A.P.C., and Polish model Anja Rubik  both whom West also follows from his personal account.

The last account that @dwbykanye follows is that of Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, a school that is part of University of the Arts, London where, coincidentally, West is rumored to have moved to hone his fashion design skill. Everything seems legit but a recent tweet from Kanye’s personal account seems to allude to an overzealous supporter of his as the real person behind the account as West has tweeted today “I appreciate everyone’s support for my clothing line but I wanted to clarify a few things…”

Via Twitter Kanye has confirmed that the page is unofficial stating that even the name “Dw” is incorrect : “The name of the line is Kanye West not DW… The Dw was a design element placed on the invite in homage to my mom : )”

Kanye also addressed the account’s existence directly: “I really appreciate the fake DW twitter page but since it’s not official I can’t co sign any information on it.”
