DJ Infamous Talks Hustle, Business and How to Have a Lucrative Career as a DJ

DJing is a non-traditional career path for sure and these days, with very few barriers to entry, anyone with a passion for music and enough money to spend on equipment can call themselves a DJ.

But though there are legions of people who call themselves DJs there are few who make a good living at it.  Calvin “DJ Infamous” Donald is one the few who’ve parlayed a good ear  for music into a growing business.  Hailing from Lansing, Michigan, Infamous began DJing at the age of 12 and by 15 he was doing his thing on college radio. Since then he’s been a mix show DJ and personality on Atlanta’s popular V103 FM and co-hosts “Infamy Radio” on Sirius/XM Radio with producer Don Cannon and comedian Lil’ Duval. Now at age 30 DJ Infamous is the latest promotional DJ for Ciroc Premium Vodka and rapper Ludacris‘s official tour DJ. BE Next spoke to Infamous about his ascent to the top and got his advice on how other aspiring DJs can make their passion a viable career.
