Louis Carr, the Executive, has transformed some of the biggest brands in the United States. With over 31 successful years in the industry, Carr began his career at BET networks and serves as the President of Media Sales. He has hired more African-American sales professionals than any other executive or company in the industry. Carr is an undeniable proponent of black advancement.
Louis Carr, the Mentor, founded the Louis Carr Internship Foundation 15 years ago dedicating his efforts to improving diversity in corporate America through paid internships. Since its inception, there have been 155 paid interns and 31 interns, all students of color, have garnered full time employment opportunities. The foundation has partnered with leading companies such as: CNN, Discovery Networks, McDonald’s Corporation, BET Networks, GlobalHUe, Burrell, Uniworld and Walton Isaacson.
Louis Carr, the Entrepreneur, has authored two books entitled Dirty Little Secrets and Little Black Book: Daily Motivations for Business and Personal Growth. Carr openly lays out his own roadmap to greatness with sure fire tips to aid students, business professionals and those in pursuit of self-purpose to get to the next level. He covers much needed topics like Leadership, Culture, Strategy, Vision, Success, and Diversity.
Louis Carr, the Philanthropist, understands that to whom much is given much is required. Carr currently serves on the boards of Boys Hope Girls Hope and The United States Track and Filed Foundation. He altruistically gives his time and money to impact meaningful change in the lives of others.
Carr has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including: Hyatt Corporation’s Diversity Award; AAF Patricia Martin Diversity Award of a Lifetime Celebration honoring his work around diversity from both personal and professional standpoint; NAMIC’s Most Influential African Americans in the Cable Industry list several times and the prestigious ADCOLOR Legend Award.
Mr. Carr attended Drake University on a full athletic scholarship and has been happily married for 31 years.
