Africa-America Institute Hosting STEM-Focused Talent Summit


The Africa-America Institute will host its Second Annual Talent Summit, an event for mid-career professionals seeking employment in Africa, May 3 at New York City’s Baruch College.

Panel discussions will address leading and emerging career sectors in Africa, ranging from healthcare and pharmaceuticals to information technology and energy and power. The World Bank estimates that 2.5 million new engineers and technicians alone are required to achieve key development targets in sub-Saharan Africa.

“For our second annual Talent Summit, we’re offering panel discussions to give potential job candidates insight into what knowledge and skills are needed to make their career transition to working with Africa-focused companies and institutions and what it takes to be competitive in today’s global economy,” said Amini Kajunju, AAI President and CEO. “We’re excited about the lineup for our next Talent Summit and are expecting another big turnout for this year’s event,” said Kajunju.

Summit attendees will learn from top industry experts on talent management and recruitment about career opportunities and hiring trends in Africa and gain an insider peek into technology and innovation on the continent

Attendees will also have the chance to network and converse with top recruiters from companies including General Electric (GE) Africa.
