I am a big fan of the peplum trend. While the blossoming style may be new to some, it’s actually an old style that originated in the ’20s. For those that think the cut is too fly, feminine—or worse, too tricky to wear to work, I urge you to take a second look. Whether worn formal for a meeting or casual for Fridays, you can rock peplum in the office. In fact, there are several perks to the peplum:

The look is ladylike and makes a demure yet powerful statement

It gives every figure the perfect hourglass shape whether you are a size 2 or 22

It is versatile and can be dressed up or dressed down

It’s one of those key accents that can take you from professional to play.

Peplum dresses are prefect for the office and scream effortless style. Peplum separates, on the other hand, provide more versatility as there are a number of ways to wear them.

Pair peplum tops with slim pants or pencil skirts to prevent looking too heavy or boxy.

Layer a peplum top over an old dress to mix things up or wear it under a blazer

Partner peplum skirts with a shell top or a pretty buttonless blouse.

Peplum jackets compliment pretty much anything and make it easy to wear the trend everyday

No matter how your rock the trend, just remember to keep your proportions in check to prevent looking out of shape.  If you don’t already have one, pick up a peplum today or try a new way of wearing your own. With so many ways to wear the trend, you cant help but agree that peplums are a great perk for anyone’s  style.
