Real-World Influence 

The new algorithm is making social networking prowess less of a big deal. In addition to factoring in your actions on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and other networks already included, Klout now uses information from Wikipedia.

“We had to figure out how to balance the real-world influence with the online influence,” said Klout founder and CEO Joe Fernandez. “We still lean more toward the online influence but now your real-world influence is coming more and more into play.”

Up to 12 social media profiles can be linked to your account, with at least 6 more being added in the near future. Including more profiles creates a clearer picture of your brand’s total social impact, especially if your strongest platform is not Twitter. 

Tip: Adding Facebook significantly improves your score, more than adding other platforms.
