Lynton is Vice President Operational Excellence-FORNRG at NRG Energy Inc. In that capacity he is responsible for the “FORNRG” (Focus On ROIC @ NRG) initiative and for the Corporate Project Management Office. FORNRG is the flagship initiative of the company which generates savings in excess of $300 million annually to the company.
Prior to joining NRG in 2006, Lynton served as Director Global Strategic Procurement at Hercules Incorporated where he was responsibility for worldwide procurement of Hydrocarbon products and Energy for the company. He was a member of the management team of the Fiber Visions and Pinova divisions of Hercules Incorporated.
In his eighteen years at Hercules Lynton held positions of increasing responsibility in Engineering, Quality, Sales, Marketing, Work Process Redesign and procurement.
Lynton was responsible for Sales and Marketing for Hercules Sanyo Incorporated (HSI) a joint venture between Hercules Incorporated of Wilmington Delaware and Sanyo Chemical Company of Kyoto Japan.
Lynton serves as chairman of the board of directors of Urban Promise Wilmington (an organization geared towards youth education and leadership development in the urban community of Delaware) He also serves on the boards of the Executive Leadership Foundation, OIC International (the organization founded by late civil rights leader Reverend Dr. Leon H. Sullivan) and is a member of the board of trustees at the University of Dayton.
Lynton earned a BSCHC degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dayton, a Masters of Science in Statistics from Rutgers University, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
