Kimberly A. Blackwell is the founder and CEO of PMM. Founded in 1999, the Mid-West based brand strategies firm provides comprehensive creative services, marketing, pr/media relations, reputation management, event production, interactive & new media, communications and sports agent representation services to its clientele. From Fortune 50 to Fortune 100+ global corporations, government/public sector, celebrities, tastemakers and elite athletes that currently include companies such as Nationwide Insurance, Macy’s, Dell, American Express, Huntington Bank, USA Track & Field, Toyota, (Delhaize America) Food Lion, LLC and City of Columbus, PMM has earned a reputation nationally as a trusted brand manager. With an enterprise focus targeted toward “…all things brand”, companies include PMM Agency, PMM Productions, PMM Promotions, PMM Elite and PMM Media.
In 2011, Ms. Blackwell was appointed to a three year term with the National Women’s Business Council (NWBC). NWBC is a non-partisan federal advisory council serving as a source of independent counsel to the President of the United States, Congress, and the SBA on economic issues of importance to women business owners.
Recognized nationally as a thought leader and influencer, in 2013 Black Enterprise magazine features Ms. Blackwell as one of the nation’s “Top Executives in Marketing & Advertising.” In 2013, Ms. Blackwell was awarded with The Network Journal’s “25 Influential Black Women in Business”. In 2012, PMM and Ms. Blackwell were highlighted in SAVOY along with the Power Issue of Black Enterprise among “Rising Business All-Stars 40 Under 40”. In 2010, she was recognized locally as a “Forty Under 40” by Columbus’ Business First.
Often consulted for diversity and inclusion strategies, Ms. Blackwell is a certified diversity professional of Cornell University. She has also completed professional executive training programs at both Northwestern’s Kellogg and Harvard Universities.
Ms. Blackwell is a dedicated public servant. She serves as a Trustee for the YWCA Columbus, Columbus Urban League, King Arts Complex and board member for The Center for Healthy Families. She is a member of the Tocqueville Society, Women’s Leadership Council and Key Club for the United Way of Central Ohio. Ms. Blackwell is a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association. In 2012, Ms. Blackwell has been recognized nationally for her public service with a Catalyst Award by Uptown Magazine. Ms. Blackwell was also named by the National Diversity Council in 2012 as one of the “Most Powerful & Influential Women of Ohio”.
As an educator, since 2002, Ms. Blackwell serves as an adjunct professor in the graduate studies program at Xavier University (Ohio). She holds a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree from Xavier University (Ohio).
