What is the Women of Power Summit?

The Women of Power Summit is a professional leadership conference designed especially for executive women of color. This event will bring together 500 influential business women from around the country. The event will be held from Feb. 13-16, 2008, at the La Quinta Resort & Club in Palm Springs, CA.

Who should attend?

Mid- to senior-level managers, ”C” level decision makers, HR officers, diversity officers, executives and professionals.

What does the registration fee include?

The registration fee includes the executive leadership workshops, conference materials, a conference bag, breakfast, lunch, receptions, entertainment, entrance into the Women of Power Legacy Awards Dinner, lifestyle workshops, and activities (excluding spa). It does not include the hotel room or flight arrangements.

Do you suggest I seek sponsorship from my company?

Yes, we suggest you seek sponsorship from your employer. The Women of Power Summit is a career development and leadership conference that adds value to you and your company. For your assistance, we have provided a letter, click here to download, for your employer that can aid you in gaining approval from you’re company. In addition, if you need a tax ID # or to be invoiced, please call 800-209-7229.

What and where is the host hotel?

The host hotel is the La Quinta Resort & Club, 49-499 Eisenhower Drive, La Quinta, CA 92253. For more information, visit www.laquintaresort.com, or call 800.598.3828.

How much does it cost to stay at the host hotel and how do I make a reservation?

We have reserved a group rate of $280 per night (excludes resort fees and taxes). Just mention that you are a Women of Power participant and provide your control number when you call reservations at 800.598.3828. A limited number of rooms have been set aside through January 13, 2008, for attendees of the BLACK ENTERPRISE Women of Power Summit. You must register for the event first in order to receive a control number and reserve a room. Rooms are on a first-come, first-serve basis and subject to availability.

What can I expect from the program?

Gain access and learn from industry leaders about how to optimize your potential for professional advancement. Participate in interactive workshops and sessions that examine corporate trends, leadership and management skills, and diversity issues. Enjoy restorative activities such as morning workouts, golf clinics, cooking demonstrations, nightly entertainment, and much more. Network with executive women from around the country

When does registration close?

February 1st, 2008.

Are spa treatments included in the registration fee?

No. Spa treatments are a-la-carte. You may reserve your spa treatment at a 15% discount from February 13-16, 2008 by mentioning that you are a Women of Power Summit attendee. To schedule an appointment, you may call the spa at (877) 527-7721. For view spa services and rates, click here.

Can men attend the conference (husbands, significant others etc.)?

Men are welcome to register and attend the conference. However, if you look at our program you will see that it is designed specifically to address the unique needs of executive women of color.

I am trying to make my flight reservations now. When do you suggest that I arrive in Palm Springs and when is the last event for the Summit?

The conference kicks off with the Women of Power Legacy Awards Dinner on Wednesday, February 13th at 7:30 p.m. The event concludes with the farewell brunch on Saturday, February 16th, from 9a.m. to 11 a.m.

What steps should I take if I am interested in being a speaker?

Send all relevant information (Detailed resume, session topics, etc.) to lundyt@blackenterprise.com. We will inform selected speakers by November 23, 2007.

What is your cancellation policy for registration?

A refund of all registration fees minus $75 will be made upon receipt of written cancellation postmarked no later than January 11, 2008. No subsequent refunds will be made after January 11, 2008. Participants may transfer packages until January 18, 2008. All requests must be submitted in writing to BE Women of Power Summit, 130 Fifth Ave, 10th floor. New York, NY 10011.

What is your cancellation policy for hotel?

All rooms are subject to a resort fee of $16 per room per night, a room attendant fee of $3 per room per night, and a one-time stay porterage fee of $10. All room-type requests are subject to availability. Reservations must be guaranteed to a major credit card and require a deposit equivalent to one night's stay and tax (11.65%). Refunds will be made only when cancellations are received at least seven days prior to scheduled arrival. Early departure is subject to the equivalent to one night's stay plus tax.
