Michael Jackson has broken many records in his career, from album sales to endorsement deals. In March 1991, Jackson renewed his contract with Sony Music for $65 million, a record-breaking deal that knocked his sister from the top spot just nine days after she inked her deal with Virgin Records. Even after his untimely death in June 2009, his estate remains profitable, as the administrators of the pop icon's estate signed biggest recording contract in music history, a seven-year deal with Sony Music Entertainment in March 2010. The Los Angeles Times speculated the deal to be worth up to $250 million and include unreleased recordings, DVDs and video games.
