African American Festival Returns with Epic Line-Up

Attention lovers of black culture, music, business and art! The time has come again for you to get your life with the 2015 African American Festival! Presented by Black Enterprise, the City of Baltimore, and greiBO Entertainment, the African American festival celebrates over 35 years of music, art, and culture with a host of talent, guest, and speakers to make your experience epic.

On Saturday, June 20 – Sunday, June 21 at the Camden Yard Sports & Entertainment Complex, there will be so much to expect at the African American Festival. Hosted by Actor & Producer Chris Spencer alongside R&B Diva Brave Williams and Singer/Comedian David Mann, this festival will bring you music, history, education, performances, financial literacy, and the list just goes on. If you’re looking to be entertained and inspired, here is where you need to be.

The AAF line-up alone leaves very little to desire. Grammy Award Winners Stephanie Mills, Will Downing, and Faith Evans will leave it all on the stage. “I am happy to support the City of Baltimore and excited to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of my first album,” says Faith Evans. Hip-Hop icon Doug E Fresh will be there to entertain along with legendary musician Sheila E, R&B Crooner Eric Roberson, and the talented SWV.

Empire lovers will be thrilled to know that Yazz AKA Hakeem will host and V. Bozeman will perform at the 2015 AAF. You’ll be able to enjoy the smooth sounds of Demetria McKinney and R&B Boy Band 4EY the Future.  As if this list isn’t extensive enough, there will also be performances by David and Tamela Mann, Steve Drakes, and Randy Roberts & Kingdom. While your insides are still dancing, keep the vibe flowing by catching Battle of the DJs before checking out more festival activities.

With all of this, what else could there be, you wonder? Oh, there’s so much more. Swing over to the Black Enterprise Empowerment Zone where the focus will be men. Join BE for an entertaining Battle of the Sexes and a special forum on #BlackMalesMatter. You’ll enjoy Q&A with celebrity guests, a game show to test your Love & Money smarts, and a much needed real talk on relationships. For all those men that are stylish, or hope to be, a men’s fashion expert will be giving out free style advice.

Ladies, a Beauty Bar will be ready and waiting for you. Experts will be there to assist you in creating your own style. There will be new products and services to try that will prove to help you cultivate and maintain a new look! Expect to see industry leaders and emerging brands as you learn what works best for you.

It’s all about health! The Health and Wellness Pavilion will be there to focus on the latest advancements on mind, body, and soul well-being. Get a screening, catch a fitness demonstration, and learn how to obtain optimal health.

There is something at AAF for the techies, too! Toyota Tech Playground brings you STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Nation which includes interactive exhibits and demonstrations where your knowledge and problem solving abilities will be put to the test.

This seems like quite bit to keep up with and it is. Stop by Festival Live–a social media hub featuring a Twitter wall and a live feed of the festival performances and LVS displays trending hashtags and social media updates–to check out what everyone else is doing to maximize their festival experience. Stay in the loop!

You’re bound to be exhausted after all this fun. Unwind at the Bud Light Beer Garden. Sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, the beer garden experience is the perfect place for festival-goers to sit and enjoy an ice-cold beverage at the mobile bar equipped with televisions, an interactive digital kiosk, and a phone charging station.

At this point you’re overwhelmed with excitement. The good news is you don’t have to wait much longer. The African American Festival is right around the corner! It all goes down Saturday, June 20 — Sunday, June, 21 in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Camden Yard Sports & Entertainment Complex. And it’s FREE for the whole family!
