picoWATT Tenrehte Technologies is giving consumers smart grid control with the Picowatt. Turn appliances on and off and set timers with the Picowatt via a aWi-Fi-enabled computer or Facebook application. Consumers can set up their own home energy monitoring with this device, which collects data including historical energy usage. The Picowatt will be available for under $100 by the end of 2010 on Amazon.com.
