Revolt TV Launches ‘HELLO Harlem’ Initiative With Kick-Off Event


More than 500 leaders in business, philanthropy and entertainment gathered recently at the Studio Museum in Harlem to celebrate the red-carpet launch of REVOLT TV’s community initiative, “HELLO Harlem,” a summer series to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem (BGCH). Businesses represented included Yahoo!, Ernest & Young, American Express, Universal Music, Sony Music, PepsiCo, Foot Locker, GlobalHue, Tribal Worldwide the Mayor’s office and the NFL.

A who’s who of media, entertainment and business attended including TV personality Bevy Smith (Bravo’s “Fashion Queens”), Hisham Tawfiq (NBC’s “The Blacklist”), DJ Kid Capri, Kwame Jackson, CEO of Krimson by Kwame, celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephen, and more.

The “HELLO Harlem” launch, which was sponsored by AQUAhydrate, The Harlem Brewing Company, Sean John and Ciroc, and supported by Harlem Park to Park, featured remarks by Kai Wright, REVOLT TV vice president of communications, and Shirley Lewis, BGCH chair, along with a special presentation by the children of the BGCH. The evening also featured a performance by Grammy-nominated artist Luke James, who sang Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel” as well as his hits “Make Love To Me” and the Grammy-nominated single, “I Want You.”

The HELLO Harlem summer series will continue July 14 to September 8, 2014.
