Tyler Perry to Release First-Ever Animated Madea Film

With a successful run in theaters and on the big stage, Tyler Perry is now ready to add a bit of a spin to his well-known Madea series.

According to BlackNews.com, Perry is set to release his first animation film, Madea’s Tough Love, on January 20, 2015, with voice talent done by Tyler Perry, Cassi Davis, Rolondo Watts, Avery Kidd Waddell, William “Bootsy” Collins, and Cree Summer.

“We are thrilled to partner with Tyler Perry on the launch of Madea’s Tough Love,” said Anne Parducci, who is the EVP of Marketing and Family Entertainment at Lionsgate. “Given the tremendous success and appeal of his beloved character Madea across screen and plays for the past 15 years, we know fans and families will love to watch and laugh with Madea in her first animated film.”

The plot of the film will center around Madea working to save a local youth center after having a hilarious run-in with the law that sentenced her to do community service hours.

Madea fans can get a sneak peek of the animation film on the A Madea Christmas DVD and Blu-ray release, which is available in stores today.
