Venus Williams to Join 2014 Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit


Tennis champion, philanthropist, entrepreneur and former world No. 1 Venus Williams will attend the 2014 Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit where she will give a one-on-one interview, it was announced Friday.

The 2014 Women of Power Summit will be held at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Fla. from February 26 through March 1.

In addition to seven Grand Slam singles titles — and over a dozen doubles titles with her sister, Serena — Ms. Williams owns a sports fashion line called EleVen, and owns and operates a Florida-based interior design firm.

Ms. Williams and her sister are also minority owners of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.

She joins a roster at the Women of Power Summit that includes honorees Myrlie Evers, Cicely Tyson, and speakers Joyce M. Roché, Donna A. James. Ms. Williams recently lent her name to the popular Jamba Juice franchise as a franchiser and marketing partner.

Ms. Williams also covered the November 2012 issue of Black Enterprise Magazine.
