An announcement was made that there is a new highway being paved in Macon, Georgia. But what makes it more newsworthy is that the house that Little Richard grew up in will have to be moved to make way for it.
Macon Mayor Robert Reichert made the announcement, but, not to worry, the home will be moved to another location. It’s being moved to a location near the Pleasant Hill Community Garden and will become a neighborhood resource center.
Richard Wayne Penniman aka Little Richard grew up in Pleasant Hill, a section of Macon. The new highway, I-75, is going to slice right through the community.
