It was a high school sports injury that prompted Dr. Juneau Robbins to pursue a career as a chiropractor. “I was so impressed with the chiropractor that treated me, I decided to use the profession as the subject of an upcoming research paper,” says Robbins, now co-owner of Urban Chiropractic, a chiropractic clinic/ rehab center in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. “The information I obtained for my paper then led me to select the profession as a career.”

Robbins took his core science courses, which included anatomy, chemistry, biochemistry, physiology and physics, at the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada. He then attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota, where he obtained a B.S. in biology and a doctorate in chiropractic medicine in November 1996.

Like most chiropractors, Robbins, now 27, worked for another chiropractor for a short time and then took the entrepreneurial plunge. “The chiropractic profession offers great opportunity for business ownership,” he says. “You control your own schedule and it’s great!”
