Money Talks

You've landed the job, now negotiate the salary you deserve

both you and the company have some latitude.

  • Be clear about the requirements for the position. If you will need training, you may need to be more flexible in your negotiation. On the other hand, if you exceed the requirements, you have more leverage.
  • There’s more to life than base salary. If the employer can’t boost your base pay because of salary restrictions, ask for a signing bonus, additional vacation days, early salary review, flexible work schedule or performance bonuses.
