Tanya Peebles has been promoted to vice president in the Los Angeles office of Edelman Worldwide Public Relations. Peebles is responsible for overseeing many of the national accounts for the office’s consumer marketing group. She is also charged with enhancing the firm’s management of ethnic diversity. Previously, she served as senior account supervisor.
Glenn Graham has joined First Call Corp. in Boston as executive vice president and chief technology officer. He manages the company’s research and development, product management and consulting functions as well as planning and implementing technology strategy. Previously, he was president and CEO of Omniprobe Inc. in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts.
Gregory J. Sneed has been named vice president and assistant controller of worldwide accounting services at HBO in New York. Sneed oversees the company’s accounting services, general accounting, accounts payable, payroll and financial systems. Prior to his appointment, he was president and COO at 40 Acres and A Mule Filmworks; Inc.
Wendell Barron has been elected the 72nd president of the Michigan Automobile Dealers Association in East Lansing. Barron is the first African American to lead the organization, which represents 745 Michigan dealers. Barron is also president and CEO of Campus Ford in Okemos, ranked No. 60 on the 1997 BE AUTO DEALER 100 list.
James Daniel Fowler Jr. has been named executive director of the Executive Leadership Council and administrator of the Foundation in Washington. Fowler will help lead the association of Fortune 500 African American senior executives, which he helped found more than a decade ago. Previously, he was president of Fowler & Associates in Bethesda, Maryland.
