The lessons [I learned in overcoming obstacles] were to be courageous, strong in your convictions, and never lose sight of the main goal. Obstacles may also come and are not necessarily there to stop you. They are there to be overcome and [for you] to decide if you will go over, under, around, or through them to reach [your] goal. As I reflected, overcoming obstacles had been the story of my personal life and my career. Obstacles had really been opportunities to excel.
