Reuben named to Fed

Black Enterprise Board of Economists member Lucy J. Reuben was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.

Reuben is currently a dean and professor at South Carolina State University School of Business in Orangeburg, South Carolina. As a member of the board of directors, Reuben will be responsible for analyzing economic development in the Charlotte, North Carolina, region.

"It’s important for people at my level to be involved and knowledgeable about the economic activities that are ongoing in this region," says Reuben. "It gives us the opportunity to be the real economic and business leaders of the 21st century that we say we are about developing."

Reuben will serve her six-month term at the Charlotte branch office, and will have the opportunity for reappointment through 2002.
