Shopping For A Diamond

When shopping for a diamond or other fine jewelry there’s more to look for than just the four C’s: cut color, clarity and carat (size). Finding a reputables jeweler should come first.
Star by checking the jeweler’s reputation. Contact your local Better Business Bureau for complaints and compliments. Find out how long the store has been around. Ask about its credentials: Is the store a member of the American Gem Society and/or the American Society of Appraisers? To receive ASA certification, members must have degrees from accredited institutions, have five or more years of experience in the industry and have taken the accreditation exam. The ASA maintains a list of certified appraisers; for those in your area, contact the ASA at 800-ASA-VALU.
