Small device packs big storage

Iomega's Micro Mini lets you store and go

Whether you’re a “clipper” or a “looper,” Iomega’s new Micro Mini lets you carry your storage in style. The tiny 128MB Iomega Micro Mini USB 2.0 drive weighs just 9 grams (0.3 ounces) and is roughly the size of a pendant. It lets you store and share MP3s, video clips, data, digital images, and more with simple plug-and-play ease.

The USB 2.0′s capabilities mean you can transfer information up to seven times faster than USB 1.1. The Micro Mini is currently available in 64MB and 128MB configurations, with 256MB units expected later this year.

The device ships with Iomega’s Active Disk technology, so there’s no need to load software onto your PC, Mac, or Linux machine; simply plug in the Micro Mini to launch the applications. Also included in the package: three changeable color caps, a neck chain, a key clip, and a USB extension cord. The device is clearly aimed at the trend-setting college crowd, but for those not ready to “go gently,” into maturity, it’s still a cool (and practical) way to store and transfer data.
