I, too, know Shelly and her ex-husband. I agree with the previous person who commented on this article. This article definitely paints a one-sided picture making her look like the victim. What this article doesn't state is that it was suggested that the house be sold in the beginning so the mortgage wouldn't be a burden (for whoever ended up with the house). The article also doesn't state that their son is now in public school. The article makes it seem as though the father is not doing a thing for his son other than making child support payments. The father is very active in his son's life, including getting him for summers and alternate major holidays. If Black Enterprise wanted to paint a fairer picture, maybe they should do an interview with the father. I agree that a separation or divorce is a major life change, but some decisions made during this process can help out in the long run. Don't bite off more than you can chew to spite the other person

The article is really funny, because I know this woman and her Ex and it really speaks of how there are 3 sides to every story. The picture painted here is definately one-sided and I think that, the other side should be interviewed but I am sure that will never happened. I know other women with more children and less Support from the fathers and they make way less that this woman and they seem to make there way.
