Walmart continues to be the store where you can buy almost anything. Now you can conduct an array of financial transactions at the superstore. Need to wire money? Not a problem—Walmart has you covered.
The new service, called Walmart-2-Walmart, gives shoppers the ability to transfer money to and from Walmart stores. It will be available to customers later in the month.
Says Forbes, “It’ll allow shoppers to transfer money to and from 4,000 Walmart stores nationwide for up to 50% less than competitors, according to research by the store chain.”
Walmart-2-Walmart will be directly competing with its current money transfer service, which is run by MoneyGram
Shoppers are able to transfer up to $50 for $4.50 and up to $900 for $9.50. Walmart also has a Money Center at its local stores where consumers can cash checks for $3. In addition, the retailer has an alternative debit and checking account called Bluebird, which features no minimum balance requirement or annual, monthly maintenance, or activation fees.
