Do you have any advice for students needing housing at Morgan State?

Students are encouraged to apply by the May 1 deadline and to have all financial arrangements in order. Housing options are available to students who meet the application deadlines as well as financial and academic requirements.

What advice do you have for students who might fall short of minimum requirements, but still want to attend?

Students are encouraged to attend a community college. Morgan State University is of the opinion that grade point average and standardized test scores do not always provide a complete or accurate measurement of a student’s potential for success. This alternative for students provides them with the potential to succeed by allowing them access to the institution when they meet the university’s admission requirements.

What kind of opportunities do you have for nontraditional–transfer and international– students?

Non-traditional and transfer students have the opportunity to be considered for scholarships that are specific to their student group, and international students can qualify for traditional university scholarships. Additionally, all three student populations have offices on campus that cater to their specific needs.

How does the university weigh GPA, SAT scores, extracurricular activities, college essays, and recommendations during the application process?

To be considered for admission to the university a first-time Freshmen student must have the following: 2.0 GPA and 850 SAT score (a combined critical reading and math), or 17 ACT (composite score). Extracurricular activities, college essays, and recommendations are tools utilized in determining eligibility in special programs and for honors consideration.
