and awed by the experience, never more so than now. I’ve traveled all over the country, and to many places outside of it. I’ve met many amazing people, from jazz giant Miles Davis to dealmaker extraordinaire Reginald F. Lewis—and yes, President Obama, when he was a U.S. senator and presidential candidate. I feel just as geeked and blessed and overwhelmed as I did 25 years ago.
Today, on the day of the 2009 King Holiday Observance, I am back where it all began, in Washington, D.C., to cover the presidential inauguration of one Barack Hussein Obama Jr. I can hardly wait for my next assignment.
