Lil’ Wayne’s “I don’t like New York” Comment Angers Senator

From the New York Times.

Lil’ Wayne’s recent declaration that he does not like New York has angered a state senator so much so that the Queens native is demanding an apology–or else.

In an interview with MTV news the rapper said, “Flat out: I don’t like New York.” Considering the rapper was arrested in the state back in 2007 for gun possession and incarcerated in 2010, his disdain for the Big Apple comes to no surprise.

However, New York senator Malcolm A. Smith is set on getting the last laugh.

“If you don’t like New York,” Mr. Smith said, “you don’t have to come to New York. You don’t have to sell your products here. And perhaps we won’t come to your concerts.”

Smith also mentioned that his district of Queens is the birth of hip-hop. Instead, the senator said, he would like to meet up with Lil’ Wayne to talk less about his dislike for New York and more about stopping the gun violence in the city’s streets.
