Maxine Waters: I would like to know what her position is now relative to her comments in 2004 during hearings to discuss imposing further regulation on FNMA and FHLMC? Several Republicans had outlined in detail the impending crisis four years ago, and asked Reps for their immediate attention to the matter, given that taxpayers would have to pay the steep price for cleaning up the mess that the inevitable failure of these agencies would bear. She argued against regulation saying that there was nothing broke, so why fix it? She also commended Franklin Raines for his outstanding leadership of FNMA...?</description>
