Soledad O’Brien Signs Off of CNN

Her show, 'Starting Point,' has ended after just one year

The CNN morning anchor desk will be looking different now that Soledad O’Brien has broadcast her last show there. The host of the ‘Black in America’ series will no longer be at the anchor desk at CNN.

For whatever reason, former NBC executive, now new CNN President, Jeff Zucker, has been making sweeping changes at the cable channel, including not renewing Roland Martin’s contract.

“My tenure, obviously, at the helm of this show ends today and I’m not going to be covering daily news for CNN after today,” she said. “Over the last decade at CNN, I’ve had a really great chance to cover some of the biggest stories, I think it’s fair to say, of our time, like the Asian tsunami, the earthquake in Haiti, and our entire political season last year and Hurricane Katrina, obviously.”
