You Mean You’re Still Undecided?

Election Day is tomorrow and while most voters are itching to cast their ballots, 8% of voters are still undecided, according to a CBS poll. The poll, released Sunday, shows Sen. Barack Obama leading Sen. John McCain by 13 points among likely voters, with a 3% margin of error.

Who are these un-swayed ballot-casters? More than half are age 45 or older. They are mostly white and over half of them are men. Most of these uncommitted voters live in the Midwest and South. They’re self described non-partisan with two in five described as independents. Half also describe themselves as moderate.

All 8% of the undecided voters in the CBS poll say they will vote on Election Day. Many say they have not chosen a candidate yet or can still change their minds on the candidate they currently support.

With McCain and Obama on nonstop tours that would put most rock stars to shame, will a last-minute courtship of these voters impact the overall results of the race?
