great information thanks
Who handles you finances in your business can deermine if you STAY in business! What would you consider the number 1 thing to look for in an accountant? Experience, education, references or something else
At what point would you say an accountant is needed?
Thanks so much for clarifying the roles of Bookeeper, Accountant and CPA>
I also recommend to be sure that you have an understanding of the reports that are being provided, where are the numbers coming from. Ask questions. When I provide EOM financial reports to my clients, one of the first things I do is to ensure they understand where the numbers are coming from, and I give them key things to look for, and where they will see this number again. I feel it’s important that they KNOW and understand the reports. No matter who handles your finances…make sure you ask questions so that you can understand and be able to spot anything that does not look right.
This is SO on point! Hiring an account or bookkeeper does not give the entrepreneur license to abandon responsibility of knowing and understanding the financials of their operation. Any business owner does so at their own risk. A good financial pro is committed to educating their client. I guess you must be good, Ms. Cardwell! 🙂 Thanks!
Excellent info! I would have loved to have received this info years ago!
Its also a good idea to take some accounting classes. Most higher education programs offer them.
Great information! Does anyone currently use an accountant in their business?
Very good courses this week.
What would you say are the benefits of having an accountant or bookkeeper vs. all the other financial programs that generate the same reports? Would it only be for the explanation?
Wow…. Great information.
Another great course.
Just completed a QuickBooks course, but still need an Accountant!
This was really good information. Thanks!!
