Chipotle Announces New Catering Service

Chipotle Mexican Grill announced the launch of their new catering service, which began in Colorado earlier this week. Chipotle catering will allow groups ranging from 20 to 200 to customize their own individual burritos and bowls, the same way they do at Chipotle restaurants. The company plans to add catering to all of its markets in the coming months.

Chipotle catering offers a Taco and Burrito Bowl Spread that can be ordered with two or three meats (including grilled chicken or steak, and shredded barbacoa or carnitas) and comes complete with sides, including the restaurant’s very popular cilantro-lime rice, pinto and black beans, fresh salsas, house-made guacamole, cheese, and sour cream. Those looking for a snack or a smaller option can choose Chipotle’s chips and salsa menu with hand-mashed guacamole, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, tomatillo-green chili salsa, and tomatillo-red chili salsa.

“With catering, we can now better serve our customers by allowing them to bring Chipotle into their homes, offices and schools where they can conveniently and effortlessly share the food that they love with large groups of people,” said Steve Ells, founder, chairman and co-CEO of Chipotle. “We are changing the way people think about and eat fast food by offering our customers better ingredients from more sustainable sources in a way that is affordable and accessible.”

The chain opened with a single restaurant in 1993 and currently operates more than 1,350 locations. Ells started Chipotle with the idea that food served fast did not have to be a typical fast food experience, and operates the business using the motto: “Food with Integrity.’
