Tout, a social media startup, got a big boost when the basketball star used Tout to announce his retirement by videotaping himself in a quick, amusing blurb and airing it to the world. Within the first half hour of Shaq tweeting his Tout link, it was clicked on 35,000 times, the startup said. Shaq has gone on to be an adviser to the startup and receives a small piece of equity in the company.
