A packed house of A-list celebrities, studio executives and industry tastemakers came out to celebrate the AAFCA Awards. Produced by the African American Film Critics Association, the invitation only, red carpet took place at PIPS Restaurant (renamed the AAFCA Playhouse) in Los Angeles. Hosted by noted entertainment journalist Kevin Frazier, (of CBS's The Insider) the event featured awards handed out in categories that included: Best Actor, Actress, Director and Best Film, among others.
