Television just isn’t the same. Nowadays, you’re more likely to see a reality show starring a person of color than a scripted one. Many of us who grew up on Black family sitcoms like The Cosby Show, A Different World and The Jeffersons—which portrayed a positive side of the African American experience—may find most of what’s on the air now pales in comparison but there are a few gems in the crowd.
