Billy J’s involvement in NY’s music scene was eminent, throwing parties and doing massive grassroots as well as viral marketing for events of all shapes and sizes. Jones started as an A&R for John Monopoly’s Hustle Ent, while working closely with Monopoly on projects for Kanye West’s GOOD Music label. Billy J Worked directly under John Monopoly on campaigns for Kanye West, Consequence, and Shawnna. While simultaneously heading the urban marketing division of The YouCast Corporation, he helped to brand 50 Cent alongside the groundbreaking technologies of Ning and Kyte. While working with Chris “ Broadway “ Romero and 50 Cent, bringing them the technology to create thisis50.com, the 50 Cent social networking site.
Jones served as A&R and Manager for Yung Bergs debut EP “Almost Famous” and first full length release “Look what you made me”. Jones was integral in putting together the creative and sonic engineering team for the LPs, shopping Berg as an act and ultimately, closing Berg’s seven figures signing with Epic Records, as well as getting Berg his own imprint.
Billy helped push Berg to #6 on the Billboard Top 100 and to the top 5 on Billboards Hot Rap and R&B Charts. Billy also landed his 2nd billboard smash with his producer Dot Da Genius on Kid Cudi’s Day N Night. Shortly after Billy J was hired by Steve Rifkind as the VP of A&R for Rifkind’s label SRC and the Director of A&R for Universal Republic Records.There Jones runs the A&R dept along with running the creative for Mr. Rifkin’s publishing company. After leaving universal Billy started a new multimedia company where he has landed a major deal with Adam Levine and Interscope records. Billy is also the Co-Founder of Raytroniks alongside his longtime friend Ray J, where they have launched the electric scooter called Scoot-E-Bike. The Scoot-E-Bike is now one of the most popular E-Scooters in the US.
