Founder and Managing Director, R3 Score
Teresa Y. Hodge, Founder and Managing Director of R3 Score. R3 Score develops risk models to help people (and institutions) move beyond criminal backgrounds. It was a 70-month federal prison sentence for a white-collar, non-violent, first-time offense that introduced her first-hand to the criminal justice system and mass incarceration in America. Immediately upon coming home from prison, she co-founded Mission: Launch, Inc. a non-profit with her daughter. The organization focused exclusively on innovation and reentry solutions. In addition to building tech enabled solutions to tackle criminal justice reform. Teresa advocates for tech and a workforce inclusion for people with criminal records.
March 2017, Teresa was granted the Dewey Winburne Community Service Award for digital inclusion at SXSW. In 2016, she was named an Open Society Soros Justice Fellow with a mandate to advocate for closing the digital divide created by mass incarceration as well as the creation of a tech inclusion movement for people with arrest and/or conviction records. Teresa’s TEDx talk – We’ve Made Coming Home Too Hard, highlights the impact of personal bias and social stigma on formerly incarcerated people.
