Black Twitter Responds to Fast Company’s ’25 Smartest Women On Twitter’ List


Fast Company released a list yesterday showcasing the smartest women on Twitter. Call it what you want (ahem, a blatant disregard for the top Twitter users, may be fitting), the website for the well-known business magazine “tried it,” however, social heavyweights from Black Twitter didn’t miss a beat and were on hand to correct the popular zine’s oversight. The list, largely dominated by white women, has a sprinkle of color and  birthed the hashtag #SmartBlackWomenOfTwitter which was created by @FeministaJones.  It also sparked lists filled with smart, savvy and innovative women on the popular platform created by Colorlines.com and HuffPost Black Voices, among other sites.
