[The Beat Makers] Meet Dannis Winston

Performing alongside the greats including the O’Jays and Dionne Warwick, founding his business, and successfully managing bands at just the age of 22, Winston has done much in his career. But he is just beginning is ascension. “I have always concentrated on innovation when it come to my musical process by staying on top of l the latest technology during live performance,” says Winston.  I’m in the process of developing a partnership in the art and tech world that also speaks to different mediums with a company called Soundwall.”

Music is an art. It is a diverse art that pulls from a mixture of sounds, instruments, cultures and experiences. This total collective is what Winston engulfs himself in day in and day out. “It’s important to show the world the different types of  BE Modern Men out there,” Winston tells BE Modern Man. “More importantly through music I can inform the next generation that there are other career options, not just what is presented to them.”

Being different is what has worked for Winston. Mastering multiple musical disciplines has afforded him the opportunity to play on many stages. “To be a leader in this industry you have to dare to be different from what most people are doing in your industry and stick to it!”

The BlackEnterprise.com team salutes Dannis Winston stepping up and stepping out on stage to deliver us a musical experience like no other.  With a veracious appetite for music we are excited to see the spotlight continue to shine Winston and Winston’s Crew Collective for many many years to come.
