Georgetown University

advise prospective students to remember that our admissions process is a holistic one. In our evaluations we carefully look at all aspects of an application (academic rigor, grades, standardized test scores, extracurricular activities, recommendations, interview reports, etc.) in making our decisions and we don’t have a minimum gpa or standardized test score for applicants. Students should also know that we look at their application in the context of their high school and the opportunities available to them, so the important thing is to demonstrate a seriousness of purpose and the strongest record they can achieve.

What kind of opportunities do you have for non-traditional, transfer, and international students?

Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies offers programs for students who have been away from academia for some time and provides resources to assist students with the transition into a rigorous academic program. Georgetown welcomes transfer applications from students who have attended community colleges or four-year colleges and universities. Transfer applicants must have graduated from high school or earned high school diploma equivalent, and completed one full-time semester of at least 12 credits at the college level. Also, for applicants who have been out of school for 5 or more years, we do not require that they submit SAT or ACT scores. Our university also welcomes applications from international students and Georgetown’s office of International Programs provides an extensive array of services and programming for incoming and current international students.

Where should high school seniors look for scholarships?
