KENNEDY STEWART

Dillard University · ATTENDED TCX 2018
I’m Kennedy Stewart, a current junior at Dillard University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Computer science has not always been my focus; I spent all my high school years playing around in Photoshop while my teachers were instructing at the front of the class unaware I wasn’t taking notes. Graphic design had my undivided attention at first because it was the only medium I had to express myself creatively. The fact that I was good at it made it even more riveting. On my approach to college, however, my mother planted seeds of doubt in my mind that it would be a lucrative field to pursue. She told me that computer science had more opportunities, pay, and career paths to follow. These seeds eventually led to me apply to colleges under a computer science major. Due to being so unfamiliar with its intricacy, I regretted this decision for a very long time and became somewhat bitter. I felt I ruined my chance of loving work. A CSS-based course completely shattered this fear. CSS is a styling code language that focuses on the “look” of a website. This felt like graphic design to me in the sense that I was designing the forefront of a website rather than the backend. I have since learned to appreciate other coding languages too, and I am having a blast increasing my knowledge of them!

CHRISTOPHER KLONARIS INGRAM

Dillard University · ATTENDED TCX 2018
I am a 20 year old from Birmingham Alabama. I love playing video games especially Nintendo Games, Capcom Games, and Bethesda Games. If you wanted to trap me, throw Monster Hunter or Xenoblade on the ground. I also love programming as much as video games. That and reading. Cannot do horror games too well. Worked for the Navy. I love to drink sodas and tell jokes.

DAIZHA NORRIS

Dillard University · ATTENDED TCX 2018
My name is Daizha Norris a rising junior at Dillard University studying in Computer Science. I am currently interning at NASA redesigning their Rocket Propulsion Test Program Office website, in order to this I had to familiarize myself with the information as well as learn the agencies format Content Management System (CMS) i did 2 weeks of training prior to being CMS Certified. I am now done with their new website and it should be available to the public soon. Last Year I participated in a Google Hakathon in ATL and my team placed 3rd that being the first time Dillard’s ever placed. We created a Demo app in 24 hours that allows users to give anonymous tip warning for anyone within a 3 mile radius, my group plans to have the app in the app store this semester. Along with doing that I just started a new app for my school that should be available during this upcoming fall semester. I also created an organization at my school called “BWB” Bosses With Brains, that helps other students receive good grades, community service, help with their resume and applying for internships. Along with doing so I also will have the website for the BWB organization completed at the end of this month.
