Hollywood Connections Online - Black Enterprise
Black Enterprise Magazine July/August 2018 Issue

Get the latest on the film, television, music or theater industries, via the Black Talent News’ Web site. It is the companion to a three-year-old trade publication geared toward African Americans in the entertainment industry. Online since April, the Web site features Black Hollywood Reports (BHR), a cyber news and information report that is updated biweekly.

You’ll find out which film, television or musical productions are in the works and what projects stars like Denzel Washington, Spike Lee and Angela Bassett are working on. The site also lists local career and educational workshops on topics ranging from industry how-to’s to independent film and video submissions.

The Casting Notices section is a quick reference guide to upcoming casting calls for film, television and theater, while the Career Opportunities section lists openings for behind-the-scenes jobs: writers, directors, producers and production technicians.

The site includes Back Issues, a section listing all the Reports from the previous year. A quick scroll will tell you everything about Spike Lee’s upcoming film He Got Game, from when it was first heard about on the street to when filming began.

BHR also provides links to other entertainment sites such as the Film, TV & Commercial Employment Network (www.employnow.com), an employment guide for entertainers, and Reel Source Inc. (www.reelsource.com), a film resource and information site.

Information on the organization’s nationwide conference series called Infotainment ’97, can also be found on the Site. The series debut, held in February in Los Angeles, showcased African American entertainers and media moguls discussing the ins and outs of acting, filmmaking, screenwriting and comedy. Check the site for future conference tours and registration information.
