“Middle of Nowhere” Wins Four Awards At The AAFCA


Independent film “Middle of Nowhere” has won four awards from The African-American Film Critics Association.

The film was honored with the award for Best Music, Best Screenplay and Best Independent Film for “Middle of Nowhere.” Lead Actress Emayatzy Corinealdi also earned the award for Best Actress.

Ava DuVernay, the writer/producer/director of the film, also won an award earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. By winning the Best Director Prize, she became the first woman of color to win the award.
