Pamela K. El has been named vice president of marketing communications at U S WEST Communications in Denver. El will lead advertising, brand management and marketing communications for the company’s retail markets organization. Previously, she served as senior vice president at the Martin Agency in Richmond, Virginia.

Carl Bryant has been promoted to vice president of technology at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina. Bryant will oversee all areas of technology, including testing, computer and creative media services. Previously, he served as director of learning systems. Prior to joining the center in 1993, Bryant was an associate professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Carl Williams has been appointed senior vice president and chief information officer at the Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa. Williams will lead the company’s information technology organization as well as execute corporate business strategy. Previously, he was vice president of information technology at the Amoco Corp.

Brian Clark has been promoted to equity partner at Anderson Consulting in New York. Clark specializes in developing business and technology solutions for retail and investment banking organizations. Previously, he | served as an associate partner. In his 13 years with the l company, Clark has worked on financial services related projects in Mexico and Japan.

Leighton Todd has been made a vice president at J & H Marsh & McLennan Inc. in New York. Todd will oversee the development and implementation of technical product support, including client servicing and market assistance in the marine and energy division. Prior to his promotion, he was an assistant vice president and product line coordinator.
